Woman arrested in butcher knife attack at Grand Island home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Thursday in a stabbing at a Grand Island home earlier this month, police say.

On July 15 around 8 p.m., a 21-year-old woman was arguing with Julissa Trevino at a home near 11th Street and St. Paul Road.

Police said Trevino grabbed a butcher knife and pointed it at the victim.

She then attacked her with the knife, leaving cuts to her head, face and arm, according to police.  The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police said Trevino showed “premeditation by grabbing the knife prior to the assault, and stabbing the victim, which could have caused death.”

On Thursday, Trevino was charged on suspicion of several charges, including attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
