Court documents say Ochoa and the victim knew each other and had been arguing in recent days.
Before the shooting, the victim and a friend ran into Ochoa at a bar but did not speak to her, police said.
When they returned to his house, the victim saw a car that looked like Ochoa’s pull up, according to an arrest affidavit.
Someone in the car fired about five shots, police said, but the victim and his friend made it inside without being hit.
About 20 minutes later, Ochoa kicked in the victim’s bedroom door and shot him, according to the affidavit.
LPD said he was wounded in the shoulder and neck.
He was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Ochoa is charged with first-degree assault, burglary, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and discharging a firearm near a building.
She is in custody at the Pinellas County Jail in Florida. It is unknown when she will be returned to Nebraska.
