Woman bites officer after fleeing from Lincoln police

LPD arrested Jackson for resisting arrest, assault on officer (3rd degree), obstructing a peace officer and false reporting.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln police arrested a woman who bit an officer after an on-foot chase near Roper Park. On Monday around 3:30 a.m., officers noticed a Kia Optima at Roper Park near 9th Street and Judson Street after the park closed.

Officers contacted both the driver and passenger inside the vehicle. The passenger, 22-year-old Makayla Jackson gave officers a fake name. Officers eventually identified Jackson and found she had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant.

Jackson fled on foot when the officers tried to take her into custody. Officers eventually caught up to Jackson, she then bit one of the officers on his thigh during a struggle.

Officers tased Jackson and were finally able to get her in handcuffs. Jackson continued to struggle when in custody. LPD arrested Jackson for resisting arrest, assault on officer (3rd degree), obstructing a peace officer and false reporting.
