Woman dies after getting hit by car in northeast Nebraska, state patrol says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was killed Saturday morning after she was hit by a car in northeast Nebraska.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, first responders were called to Highway 81 — just north of Madison — around 6 a.m.
After a preliminary investigation, officials said the car was driving south on the highway when it struck a pedestrian who was on the road.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, the state patrol said.
Authorities are still working to identify the woman, and the crash remains under investigation.
Highway 81 was closed for some time, but has since been reopened.
