Woman found dead in North Platte train yard died in Wyoming, deputies say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities in Lincoln County have identified the woman who was found dead on a train in North Platte.
The sheriff’s office says the remains are that of 42-year-old Bernadette Lopez of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
An autopsy showed that Lopez died from hypothermia roughly a week before the discovery of her body.
The locomotive traveled from Wyoming to Bailey Yard in North Platte on Saturday.
Union Pacific workers discovered the body on Sunday, meaning Lopez likely died in Cheyenne.
The sheriff’s office says it has concluded its investigation and handed it over to the Cheyenne Police Department.
