Woman gives Lincoln Chick-fil-A drive-thru $400, pays for 26 cars
Tuesday night, a woman drove through Chick-fil-A and handed the staff at the window $400, instructing them to pay for as many cars as possible.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Chick-fil-A at SouthPointe Pavillions were surprised Tuesday night when a woman handed the staff at the drive-thru window $400 in cash. Her only request was to make sure the money was used to pay for as many meals as possible for those in line behind her.
“Upon getting her food, she said ‘here’s some money I’d like you to pay for the cars behind me, as many as you can,’ and we started to count it – it was $400. Everyone just stopped for a minute and she said ‘Merry Christmas’ and drove away,” says Charlie Colón, owner of the location at SouthPointe Pavilions.
“It was special for a couple of reasons, one, our team gets to see that first hand, and secondly to be able to witness those customers and what it does for them in the moment, regardless of how little or how big, is incredible, and it’s one of the reasons I love Lincoln,” Colón says.
Although 2020 has been a challenging year, Colón says the Lincoln community hasn’t held back from being generous and kind.
“I just hope it inspired someone in those cars to do the same thing. I can promise you what it does for our team and those life lessons we learn every day regardless of age, help us think about that the next time we’re in a drive-thru,” he says.
Colón says if he ever sees the anonymous woman again, he would thank her and tell her about the impact she had on the customers behind her in line.
