Woman killed in crash with semi-truck near Grand Island

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was killed Saturday morning in a crash with a semi-truck north of Grand Island.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 9:55 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 281 and Chapman Road.

A Pontiac Grand Am was heading north on Highway 281 when it struck the semi, which was turning onto Chapman Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the Pontiac, Lila Wilson, was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s office says the driver of the semi was treated at the scene and did not need to be taken to a hospital.

An investigation is ongoing.
