Woman killed in crash with tractor in rural Seward County

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was killed last week in a crash with a tractor in rural Seward County, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.
The crash happened on Aug. 22 around 8 a.m. at 238th and Old Mill roads, just northeast of Seward.
A tractor turned north at the intersection and hit a westbound SUV, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver of the SUV, 34-year-old Jamie Calmus of Seward, was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
Three children were also in the SUV. They were treated and released at the scene with no injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the tractor, a 65-year-old Seward man, was uninjured.
The sheriff’s office said seat belts were used in the SUV and alcohol was not a factor.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
