Woman Scammed By Nigerian Lottery

Lincoln Police report a Broken Bow resident is scammed by a Nigerian lottery, which makes two cases of fake foreign lottery cons in just three days.

Police report an email had been sent to the woman stating she'd won millions of dollars, but to receive her prize, she had to send the lotto a “finders fee”.

The victim transferred more than $2600 dollars- while in Lincoln, but never received the millions she was promised.

Earlier this week, we reported on another case where a 60 year old woman was scammed out of $58,000 dollars by a phony Jamaican lottery.

Authorities want to remind people that- you can't win a lottery unless you enter one. Foreign lotteries are illegal in the U.S. and lotteries can't collect money for a free prize.
