Woman sentenced for attempted evidence tampering in Nebraska bowling alley killings

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was sentenced Tuesday for her role in a double homicide at a northeast Nebraska bowling alley.

Kaylynn Sweazy got five to 10 years in prison for attempted evidence tampering and one to two years for accessory to a felony.

The 29-year-old will serve the sentences at the same time.

With credit for more than a year already spent behind bars, Sweazy could be eligible for parole in about two years.

The killings happened in February 2024 in Bloomfield, a city of about 1,000 people near the South Dakota border.

Authorities allege that Sweazy’s boyfriend, Alias Reed, robbed the bowling alley and shot 77-year-old Curtis Strom and 49-year-old William Reffett in the head.

Both died at the scene, according to court documents.
