Woman seriously injured when hit by vehicle in downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A pedestrian was seriously injured early Wednesday morning in a crash in downtown Lincoln.

First responders were sent to 14th and O streets at about 12:20 a.m.

Police said a BMW, driven by a 20-year-old man, was heading east on O Street when it struck a 40-year-old woman.

The woman was walking across O Street when she was hit.  She was not in a crosswalk and traffic had green traffic signals, according to LPD.

She was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

Both the Lincoln Police Department and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department responded.
