LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha woman is accused of smuggling synthetic marijuana into the Nebraska State Penitentiary last year.

In an affidavit filed last month, Nebraska State Patrol Investigator Nate Eymann said 23-year-old Cynthia Price arrived at the penitentiary on Aug. 22.

Price – who brought along a child – was there to visit Trenqueal Dismuke, an inmate.

During the visit, Price was seen in security video pulling an item out of her pants and placing it into a plastic bag.

Dismuke grabbed the item from the bag and hid it in his pants, court docs allege.

Eventually, he put the item – later found to be a sheet of paper soaked with synthetic marijuana – in his hair.

After the visit, prison staff members – who saw Dismuke put the paper in his hair – searched him.

They recovered the sheet of paper, which Dismuke said was a love letter, the affidavit alleges.

An analysis found that the paper had been soaked in a form of synthetic marijuana, Eymann said.

On Friday, Price was arrested and lodged in the Lancaster County Correctional Facility.  She has since paid $250 to get out of jail.

Price was charged with two felonies.  If convicted, she could face up to 22 years in prison.

Her next court appearance has been set for July 3.
