Woman stabbed in torso during ‘large fight’ in Lincoln’s Railyard, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was stabbed Sunday morning during a fight in downtown Lincoln, police say.
Around 2:30 a.m., officers were sent to the Railyard on the report of a “large fight” and of one person being hit by a vehicle.
Police said officers tried pulling over 28-year-old Danny Barfield Jr., who was in his vehicle at Canopy and R streets.
Barfield didn’t stop, according to police, but got stuck in traffic down the road and was taken into custody after getting stuck in traffic down the road.
He was arrested on suspicion of fleeing to avoid arrest and cited on suspicion of DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Another person, a 33-year-old man, was also taken into custody. He was charged with failing to disperse.
Later on, officers spoke with a 25-year-old woman at a hospital who said she was stabbed during the fight.
Police said she had three puncture wounds to her torso. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
