Woman tried robbing person outside of Lincoln apartment building, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman tried robbing someone outside of an east Lincoln apartment building on Monday.
Around 7 a.m., officers were sent to an apartment complex near 44th and R streets on the report of a robbery.
A 22-year-old woman told officers that she was in her car when Monica Salazar, 42, approached her and asked for money.
After being told no, Salazar told the victim she had a gun and demanded money, according to police.
The victim never saw the gun, but Salazar had a hand in her pocket, police said.
Salazar got in front of the car when the victim tried to drive away and continued demanding money, authorities said.
Eventually, the victim drove to a business near 48th and Vine streets and called the police.
Officers found Salazar and arrested her on suspicion of attempted robbery. No firearm was recovered, police said.
