Woman tried sneaking meth-stuffed underwear into Nebraska jail, authorities say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was arrested Saturday after she tried to smuggle meth-stuffed underwear into a jail in Madison County, the sheriff’s office says.
Nancy Zavala, 37, dropped off underwear for an inmate of the jail, which is allowed during visitation hours, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies searched the undergarments and found meth hidden inside.
Zavala was arrested on suspicion of possessing meth and obstructing government operations.
“Our corrections officers have to be on the lookout constantly for contraband being introduced into the jail,” Sheriff Todd Volk said in a press release. “This is just one example of their hard work and dedication to duty.”
The sheriff’s office did not disclose how much meth was hidden in the underwear.
