Woman wielding knife tried killing employee at Grand Island pharmacy, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman is facing several felonies in an attempted killing of an employee Friday at a Grand Island pharmacy.
Around 4:15 p.m., Hodan Farah left U Save Pharmacy near Fourth and Walnut streets “upset” with the employees, police said.
About 30 minutes later, Farah called and told an employee that she was going to choke her until she died, according to police.
A suicide hotline later reported to police that Farah was “suicidal and homicidal” and heading to the pharmacy to kill an employee, police said.
Officers responded to the pharmacy to check if Farah was there.
While officers were speaking with employees, Farah parked an SUV in front of the building.
Officers saw Farah get out of the vehicle with a kitchen knife in her hand. She tried getting into the building, but employees locked the doors.
Farah got back into her vehicle as officers tried getting her to drop the knife, according to police.
Officers broke the driver’s side window and removed Farah from the vehicle, police said.
She was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including attempted first-degree murder and terroristic threats.
