Wyoming Highway Patrol seizes $150M worth of fentanyl
A simple traffic stop for speeding turned into a significant drug bust for the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A simple traffic stop for speeding turned into a significant drug bust for the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
The patrol says a trooper stopped a vehicle on Interstate 80 east of Cheyenne for speeding and became suspicious of criminal activity.
A search of the vehicle turned up approximately 24 pounds of fentanyl, the patrol said.
WHP estimates the value of the drug to be approximately $150 million.
Fentanyl is a potent opiod that can cause fatal overdoses even in small amounts.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and the seized fentanyl was placed in a controlled environment pending laboratory testing due to health safety concerns.
