Yale honors girl who had police called on her after spraying an invasive species

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Yale University is honoring a 9-year-old girl who had police called on her after spraying an invasive species called spotted lantern flies.
State agriculture departments across the country are urging Americans to kill these pests.
Bobbi Wilson was testing a homemade repellent against the insect before a neighbor reported her to the police.
The story is bringing national attention to the “Adultification” of young black girls.
A representative from Yale said they do not normally do things like this, but they wanted to show her bravery and how inspiring she is.
