LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The York County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle crash Friday that sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.

Just before 9 a.m., deputies were sent to Road 3 and Highway 81, 1 mile south of McCool Junction.

Witnesses said a semitruck was driving north on Highway 81 and a minivan was driving west on Road 3.

The minivan pulled out in front of the semi, and they collided in the intersection, according to Capt. Josh Gillespie.

Gillespie said the semi driver tried to avoid the collision by driving into the grass median.

The male driver of the minivan was taken to York General Hospital with serious injuries, Gillespie said. The driver of the semi was not transported.

Gillespie said the highway was closed for 30 minutes due to debris on the road.

The crash is still under investigation.
