12-year-old killed in rollover crash in central Nebraska, sheriff says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Gosper County Sheriff’s Office says a 12-year-old died in a rollover crash on Monday.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. about 12 miles south of Lexington on Road 433, according to Sheriff Jesse Naputi.

The sheriff said the driver of a 1997 Toyota Tacoma rolled the vehicle.

A 12-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was flown to a Kearney-area hospital with serious injuries, while an 11-year-old passenger was taken to a Lexington hospital.

Naputi said the investigation is ongoing. Bertrand Fire and Rescue also assisted.

The names of the victims have yet to be released.
