LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Grand Island Police Department says a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times on Sunday.

This happened near South Greenwich Street and West Phoenix Avenue a little after 1:30 a.m.

Officers were called to the area after reported gunshots and found the victim with multiple wounds.

They say vehicles that were not involved in the attack had also been shot.

Juan Alvarez Jr. was identified as the gunman and later arrested.

He’s facing several charges, including first-degree assault and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
