88-year-old crashed into Lincoln bank, caused $30,000 in damage, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was injured Wednesday when a car crashed into a building in east Lincoln.
The crash happened at LincOne Federal Credit Union near 48th and W Streets around 11:50 a.m.
An 88-year-old woman accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed into the building, hitting an employee working inside, according to Lincoln Police.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Jeremy Gegg said the employee was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver was treated for her injuries at the scene.
Police say the building had up to $30,000 in damage.
City officials were called to the crash to inspect the building.
