Driver flees after crashing into North Providence home

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- A driver fled the scene after crashing into a North Providence home early Monday morning.

North Providence police and fire responded just after 2 a.m. to Vincent Avenue.

Police are still searching for the driver that took off after leaving a hole in the foundation of the apartment building.

Residents were evacuated while National Grid investigated a possible gas leak, and it was determined safe enough to re-enter.

Police are searching for the driver.
