Nebraska is seeking federal aid after the severe storms last month.

Lt. Gov. Mike Foley is asking President Obama for a federal disaster declaration in response to the recent storm damage last month.

Heavy winds and tornadoes caused millions of dollars in damages to homes and businesses.

Counties that have declared a state of emergency include: Cass, Dundy, Gage, Jefferson, Lincoln, Lancaster, Morrill, Otoe, Saline, Saunders and Thayer.

The request will be reviewed by the FEMA’s regional office in Kansas City before it’s forwarded to the White House.
