Gibbon shooting leaves one dead

One person is dead following a shooting at Gibbon Packing Plant in Buffalo County.
Buffalo County officials say the shooting happened just before 5 p.m. Monday in the Gibbon Pack parking lot.
They say the suspected shooter is a 34-year-old Grand Island man, and was arrested on the scene. The victim is also a 34-year-old man from Grand Island. Both of their names are not being released.
Several departments responded to the scene including the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Kearney Police Department, Shelton Police Department, Kearney Fire Department, Gibbon Fire Department and Buffalo County Attorney’s Office.
The Buffalo County Attorney’s Office has ordered an autopsy, and officials are continuing to investigate.
