Armored vehicles and Lincoln SWAT team members were called to a home near 42nd and Y St. Tuesday night.

Police say they were serving a search warrant but were concerned the suspect, 37–year–old Jacob Brehm, was armed.

They say he was involved in a robbery at his mom’s house near 48th and Vine St. Saturday night. Police say Brehm, who’s a convicted felon and not allowed to have weapons, demanded his AK–47 from her. They say he then pushed her down and took off with his gun.

“He took not only the AK-47 but also a handgun that did not belong to him,” Officer Katie Flood said.

Police say Brehm refused to come out of his house Tuesday night.

The intersection was shut down for several hours while a negotiator talked with him over the phone.

“Jacob was taken into custody at about 9 p.m. without incident,” Officer Flood said.

Police say both of the weapons were found loaded inside of his home. He was arrested for Robbery and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Police say Brehm never made any threats during the standoff.

No one was injured.
