Man arrested on drug and gun related charges

31-year-old Ryan Schmidt is in police custody after he was arrested Monday on drug and gun related charges. 

Police say they found a rifle, ammunition and drug paraphernalia in Schmidt's northwest Lincoln home.
 
Officials went to Schmidt's home because of his two existing felony warrants, one for felony theft and another writing bad checks.

Schmidt is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person and Possession of Controlled Substance.
