Nebraska cruises at home vs. No. 12 USC, clinches series

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska put on an absolute show Saturday afternoon vs. #12 USC. The Huskers run-ruled the Trojans for their 30th win of the season.
Carson Jasa pitched 7.0 innings, allowing just 2 ER, 5 hits, and threw seven strikeouts. But, the huskers bats got going early.
Nebraska scored four runs on five hits in the first inning. Then, the long ball came into play. Case Sanderson, Dylan Carey, and Drew Grego all hit solo home-runs in the third inning to take a commanding 7-0 lead.
Grego finished the afternoon a triple shy of the cycle. He recorded three hits, four RBI’s and two runs.
The Huskers trounced the Trojans 12-2, marking their sixth run rule victory of the season.
With this win, Nebraska secures the series over a top 12 team. Nebraska also improves to 18-1 at home this season.
Huskers will look for the home sweep Sunday vs #12 USC. First pitch is at noon.
