88-year-old inmate convicted of sexually assaulting child dies at Lincoln prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An 88-year-old inmate died Sunday at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said Floyd Martin was being treated for a medical condition but the cause of death is unknown.

Martin was serving a 35- to 40-year sentence for second-degree sexual assault of a child in Custer County.

A grand jury will investigate Wallace’s death, as required by Nebraska law.
