The official unveiling of Lincoln Littles early education funding program

In the city of Lincoln, there is a shortage of affordable early childhood education schools, leaving more than 750 children on a waiting list to get into a pre-school.

More than 75% of Lincoln children under the age of 6 have both parents working outside the home, creating a need for more preschools.

So with the limited amount of openings at the schools that already exists some kids are left behind.

“Students in poverty that aren’t experiencing a high-quality early childhood experience are coming to school as five years old a couple of years behind,” Dr. Steve Joel Superintendent of Lincoln Public Schools said.

On February 12th Abraham Lincoln’s 210th birthday they will be hosting a big Lincoln Littles giving day in an effort to raise money.
