Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office shares video of missing Lincoln man leaving home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office shared a video on Wednesday showing Tyler Goodrich leaving his home on the evening of Nov. 3.

Goodrich, 35, was last spotted at the home near Southwest 12th and West Burnham streets around 7:41 p.m. that day.

“We are continuing to conduct interviews and searches and reviewing digital evidence,” Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.

The security camera overlooks a driveway on the west side of the home, according to the sheriff’s office.

The video shows someone running down the driveway with a light in their hand. Houchin said deputies think the light is Goodrich’s phone, but they aren’t 100% sure.

“It’s dark, and the quality is low,” Houchin said.  “From all the evidence we currently have, there is no reason not to believe this is Tyler Goodrich.”

Lonnie Goodrich, Tyler’s father, said he’s not sure this video will help in the search aside from further spreading the word.

In fact, he’s not convinced it’s even Tyler in the video.

“I don’t think there’s enough there to say 100% it was Tyler,” he said. “Others have said it’s him; some say it’s not. So make your own judgment on that if you know him.”

Lonnie Goodrich said the family and volunteers canvassed neighborhoods for surveillance footage the search, but they’re at a “dead end.”

“A lot of people have let us into their homes to look through their videos from their home cameras,” he said. “If he was out and about, or if he’s still out and about, somebody’s cameras will pick him up. Somebody will catch him on a cellphone.”

Houchin made it clear that Goodrich is not in trouble for anything that has happened.

“If he is hiding and thinking he’s in trouble, he can come out and not be,” he said. “He also still has his job.”

Lonnie Goodrich said his son’s employer has been using his vacation days, and his position isn’t in jeopardy if he comes back.

“You’re not in any trouble,” he said. “Turn yourself in. Call. Call me, we’ll come get you, and then we’ll go down to the police station together. And then they can call off this search.”
