Nebraska basketball adds ‘elite shooter’ Gavin Griffiths to roster

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Rutgers guard Gavin Griffiths is joining Nebraska basketball next season, the Huskers announced Wednesday.
Griffiths — who spent his freshman season at Rutgers — is a 6-foot-8, 193-pound guard with three seasons of eligibility left.
The Connecticut native was a top-50 recruit coming out of high school and was third among Big Ten freshmen in 3-pointers last season.
Head coach Fred Hoiberg thinks Griffiths has the “potential to flourish” at Nebraska.
“Gavin is an elite shooter with deep range,” Hoiberg said in a press release. “Spacing is so important in our system, and his skillset fits what we are looking for.”
At Rutgers, Griffiths played in all 32 games, averaging 5.8 pounds and 2.2 rebounds per game. He finished second on the team with 31 3-pointers.
“Gavin has a year of Big Ten experience under his belt, and you could see his confidence grow over the course of last season, especially in the last month when he shot 37 percent from 3-point range,” Hoiberg said in the release.
Nebraska has also added Utah guard Rollie Worster and North Dakota State forward Andrew Morgan to its 2024-25 roster this offseason.
