Two arrested after pursuit, search in Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were arrested early Saturday morning following a pursuit in Omaha.

D’anglo Williams, 19, was arrested for for willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, traffic violations, and obstructing a peace officer.

The passenger, an 18-year-old female, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer.

A Nebraska State Trooper attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plates on Interstate 80.

As the trooper approached the vehicle, Williams accelerated and fled at a high rate of speed, NSP said.

The trooper initiated a brief pursuit before Omaha Police Department’s Able 1 picked up the pursuit from the air.

Able 1 pilots directed units on the ground to the location where the vehicle stopped, near 153rd and Monroe Streets.

Williams and the passenger fled on foot, jumping several fences and eventually entering a nearby home, NSP said.

Troopers, along with officers from OPD, Papillion PD, and La Vista PD were able to make contact with the residents of the home and conduct a search.

The residents of the home were not involved in the incident.

During the search, Williams and the passenger were found hiding in the attic, refusing to exit.

NSP said officers deployed pepperball into the attic, at which time the two exited voluntarily.

Both were lodged in Douglas County Jail.
