First responders called to Lincoln mall after multiple fire alarms triggered

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – First responders were called to Gateway Mall Saturday on reports of a smokey haze that triggered multiple fire alarms.
The smoke was reportedly coming from the H&M near Dillard’s at the northwest end of the mall.
Firefighters checked the roof and removed panels from the ceiling, determining the smoke was caused by mechanical issues, according to the scanner.
Shoppers in that area of the mall were evacuated as a safety measure.
Firefighters took care of the issue and all units were returned to service.
