Car show with more than 1,000 entries will kick off Memorial Day weekend
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The second annual Wheel Hub Live car show starts Friday, helping kick off Memorial Day weekend.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed in Lincoln.
It will continue Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, then move to the Nebraska Innovation Campus for an after-party from 1 to 8 p.m.
Event coordinators said they are expecting well over 1,000 cars after having 1,300 show up the year before.
The museum is also excited to show off its new 30,000-square-foot expansion.
“It’s just going to be such a family-friendly event,” museum curator Tim Matthews said. “If you’re looking for something to do on the Memorial Day weekend, we’re going to get a sunshine kind of day. It’s going to be beautiful.”
A band called Through the Ages will be performing at Innovation Campus on Saturday.
“Bring the kids out,” Matthews said. “You know there is going to be a big band that’s playing. It’s family friendly. Huge stage, lights, the whole gambit. They’ve come all the way from California to perform for us, and it should be a ton of fun. You won’t want to miss it.”
