Lincoln man identified as victim of fatal crash
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday identified a Lincoln man who died in a crash.
Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash near Southwest 84th and West A streets just before 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators said a Buick sedan, driven by an 84-year-old woman, was leaving a driveway on Southwest 84th.
The car was struck by a Ford pickup truck driven by James Springer.
The crash pushed the Buick into a ditch, while Springer’s pickup rolled into the ditch on the other side of the road, according to deputies.
Springer, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to deputies.
Deputies said the driver of the Buick was taken to a hospital and was still in critical condition Thursday.
She was wearing a seat belt, but Springer was “not properly restrained,” the sheriff’s office said.
