U.S. Air Force band to perform at Lincoln’s Uncle Sam Jam

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Get ready to party like it’s 1776.
The City of Lincoln announced the plan for its annual free Fourth of July celebration on Tuesday.
Uncle Sam Jam is set for Wednesday, July 3, at Oak Lake Park at First and Charleston streets.
“Lincoln’s annual Uncle Sam Jam celebration provides a festive opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate our nation’s independence with a night filled with music, fireworks, and fun,” Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird. “I invite all Lincoln residents to enjoy the festivities at Oak Lake Park and create lasting memories with family and friends.”
Raptor, an ensemble of the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band, will perform.
The ensemble plays “high-energy music from a variety of genres,” according to its website.
One change from previous years is that there will be no food vendors.
You are encouraged to bring your own food, non-alcoholic beverages and reusable water bottles.
The city will provide a limited amount of water.

- 6 p.m.: Park opens
- 7:15 to 9:15 p.m.: Raptor performs
- 8:15 p.m.: Flag-lowering ceremony
- 10 p.m.: Fireworks display
