Nebraska volleyball prepares for 50th anniversary season
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Husker volleyball players took to the stand Wednesday, speaking to the media ahead of the season.
Head coach John Cook believes this team could do big things.
Nebraska volleyball is entering its 50th anniversary.
“We’re doing a lot of stuff with our alumni,” Cook said. “Players are doing presentations about the alumni they talked to and what they learned from them. It’s blown me away.”
A big talking point Wednesday was letting last season’s phenomenal run with a disappointing end stay in the past.
Nebraska made it to the national championship game but was swept by Texas.
“It’s a huge thing for us to say, ‘Let it go; it’s in the past,'” sophomore Andi Jackson said. “We can’t change what happened, good or bad. We want our outcome to be better this year, but we also want that to be a motivator.”
Nebraska tips off the year against Kentucky on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. in Louisville.
