Norfolk police chief, captain placed on paid administrative leave

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The City of Norfolk announced Friday that Police Chief Don Miller and Capt. Chad Reiman were placed on administrative leave.

The city said the action is not disciplinary in nature, nor should it be interpreted as a prejudgment.

No reason was provided for the decision, and the city said all personnel matters are confidential.

The city said additional updates will be given as necessary or appropriate.

Lt. Brian Tighe and Capt. Mike Bauer will temporarily lead the police department until further notice, according to the city.

“We assure the residents of Norfolk that the City remains dedicated to its mission of providing exceptional public safety services,” Nick Stevenson, City of Norfolk spokesman, said in a press release.
