LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A southwest Nebraska city is under mandatory water restrictions.

The City of McCook said Wednesday that it can’t produce any more water because of a broken pipe at the water treatment plant.

Only drinking and flushing are allowed.

Residents have been ordered to turn off their sprinklers to avoid depleting the city’s water tanks.

It’s not clear when the pipe will be fixed.
