LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Police say a Lincoln drug dealer and his roommate were arrested Monday after a cache of drugs and guns were found in their home.

Christopher Simpson, 31, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of money while committing a drug offense and four firearm violations.

His roommate, 46-year-old Jason Small, is facing one count of possession of a controlled substance.

About 10 p.m. Monday, police were surveilling the pair’s home near Southwest 8th and West A streets, getting ready to serve a search warrant.

They watched Simpson and Small leave the house and followed them to the Russ’s Market near South Coddington Avenue and West A, according to an arrest affidavit.

Officers stopped and searched both as they exited the store.

Investigators found $735 in cash and a straw with suspected meth residue on Simpson, the affidavit says.

Police said Small had a bag with 1.4 grams of meth.

Officers then returned to the house, where they said they found even more drugs.

There were about 41 grams of meth and 4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in the garage, according to the affidavit.

And hidden inside a subwoofer, police said they discovered two handguns and ammunition.

Police think both firearms belonged to Simpson, who is a convicted felon and barred from owning guns.

The affidavit alleges that Simpson was selling meth, while Small was just using.

Simpson is being held on a $500,000 bond, while Small’s bond is set at $3,500.

Both are due back in court Jan. 17.
