Man gets maximum time behind bars for Lincoln crash that killed unborn child
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was sentenced Friday for causing a crash that killed an unborn baby.
Lionel Brown, 60, got one year behind bars for motor vehicle homicide of an unborn child.
That is the longest sentence he could receive for the offense, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor.

The crash happened on May 10 at 16th and E streets, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
Brown was driving west and hit a southbound Kia Optima, police said.
A pregnant woman in the Kia was taken to a hospital.
Doctors performed an emergency delivery, but the baby was pronounced dead shortly after.
Brown was on parole at the time of the crash and is now serving out the rest of his sentence for a sexual assault in 1997.
