Inmate escapes from Community Corrections Center-Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An inmate at the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln escaped on Sunday while at work.

Officials said Erica Gonzales, 34, left her workplace and her electronic monitor was found near 27th Street and Pine Lake Road.

Inmates in community corrections are allowed to participate in work opportunities, attend school and go to religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.

Gonzales started her sentence in March 2023 for theft by shoplifting out of Douglas County. She had a tentative release date of March 11.

She is a 5-foot-4, 195 pound Black woman with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
