Case advances against Lincoln man accused of sexually abusing girl for years

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A case against a Lincoln man accused of sexually assaulting a girl multiple times has taken a step forward.
On Wednesday, 40-year-old James Hall waived his preliminary hearing in Lancaster County Court.
His case will now be sent to district court, where a not guilty plea will be entered automatically.

In December, a 14-year-old girl reported that Hall had been assaulting her since 2020.
Police said the most recent assault happened two days before the girl came forward.
Hall voluntarily gave investigators a DNA sample, according to police, which was then sent to the state crime lab.
His DNA matched the DNA collected during the sexual assault examination, an arrest affidavit says.
Hall, who faces first-degree sexual assault of a child and two other charges, is set to appear in Lancaster County District Court on Aug. 20.
