The man was identified as 32-year-old Dylan Danielson of Columbus.

The sheriff’s office said the names of the girls will not be released, but Fremont Mayor Joey Spellerberg said they were both under 12.

“My heart hurts, it hurts for this situation, it’s a tragedy,” Mayor Joey Spellerberg said Wednesday. “We are praying for all of the families involved.”

Officials said additional investigation efforts are currently on hold due to the structural integrity of the building.

The sheriff’s office said the fire is still smoldering and because of the design of the tower, firefighters won’t be able to put out all the embers.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is also investigating.
