Nebraska offensive lineman Rocco Spindler to miss bowl game with finger injury

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska will be missing a key part of its offensive line for this season’s bowl game.
Head coach Matt Rhule said during a press conference on Wednesday that offensive lineman Rocco Spindler is getting season-ending surgery for a finger injury.
“I really appreciate Rocco playing with that; that was as gruesome as it could be,” Rhule said. “He can’t even bench press right now.”
Rhule noted that the surgery will give Spindler a “fair shot” at an NFL combine or pro day event.
Spindler, a senior, spent four seasons at Notre Dame before transferring to Nebraska.
He started every game at right guard this season for the Huskers.
Nebraska’s bowl game has not yet been announced.
