Lincoln elementary school surprises parents and student with a flash mob

Fun Night at Calvert Elementary School had blow-up bounce houses, carnival games and a silent auction.
It was a night for families to celebrate the school year, have fun and get out of the house.
What some didn’t know though was a Flash Mob would storm center court in the gymnasium at exactly 7:11 p.m. to the Black Eyed Peas, ‘I Gotta Feeling.’
Students practiced the routine four times with instructor Monica Solc, a parent teacher student organization member, leading up to Friday night’s dance.
“I wanted an event were everyone could participate and it still be an event to watch. And I feel flash mob was the best way to make that happen. And get everyone excited and working together as a community,” Solc said.
She choreographed and led the students in all the moves. Adding some popular ones like the floss and dab.
“The kids were really excited about it. They showed up they were super excited. I’m not sure if they were going to be able to get it at first, but as you can see they blew it out of the water,” she added.
Parents couldn’t resist the music as some joined in on the fun. One of the parents, Wade Dugan wasn’t too sure if he could have done as well as his daughter.
“I would have pulled a few muscles, maybe a few moves. But mostly a lot of aches and pains I think,” Dugan said.
Solc said she wanted to do a flash mob to spread a positive message and have a good time.
