Athlete of the week: Ani Leu

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —Lincoln North Star girls basketball is having a historic season on the court. Right now, they sit at 13-0 and are being led by one special player, 6’0 senior Ani Leu
She leads the team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. She also shooting over 50% from the floor.
“I think my game definitely works well with the others,” Leu said. “We all play unselfish and I think that’s a big part at why we’re being successful right now.”
Leu is also Lincoln North Star’s all time leader in rebounds, and steals.
But, while the gators look to remain perfect, Leu isn’t thinking about that record. She just knows they have to give it their all each time on the court.
Leu already has plans to play once her gators day are complete. She committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha this past signing day.
But, for her and this team, their is still one thing left to be accomplished.
“Obviously our main goal is a state title and it’s going to be a long process to get to that. We just have to put our trust into each other and cherish every moment,” said Leu. “This is my senior year and I want to live it to the fullest.”
Lincoln North Star’s next game might be the biggest of the season.
The Navigators will host the undefeated (14-0) Kearney Bearcats Tuesday night.
