Colder, Snow Chances for Thursday
While we did finally sneak above freezing earlier this afternoon, it looks to be short-lived as we head into Wednesday evening. Temperatures will drop quickly back into the 20s.
Light snow showers will be possible across the state beginning late this evening and continuing off and on until early Friday morning. Above is the latest run of StormCast showing the latest timing of Thursday’s winter weather.
The best chances of accumulating snowfall will be in far north-central Nebraska, with the res to of us on the eastern half of the state seeing anywhere between a dusting and an inch through Friday morning.
Temperatures tonight will be fairly typical for late January, with overnight lows in the middle teens.
Mostly cloudy tonight in Lincoln with a small chance for snow beginning after midnight.
High temperatures drop on Thursday with many of us seeing the middle 20s, warming as you head west.
Snow chances drop off in Lincoln throughout the morning before mostly cloudy skies take over for the afternoon.
Our high temperature in Lincoln will be close to 10 degrees cooler than our afternoon temperatures on Wednesday. Back below freezing we go!
Our next trip under the freezing point should be a little shorter, but it does not come without a chance of temperatures in the single digits below zero late Friday and into Saturday. After Thursday and Friday’s snow chances, we look to see another shot at some moisture late Saturday and into Sunday. Temperatures do finally look to warm up for the start of February.
