Pleasant Tuesday Before Widespread Rain
Dew point temperatures will drop into the 50s statewide Tuesday afternoon! This will feel quite refreshing after dealing with 70s for dew points.
The north winds could bring in some Canadian wildfire smoke aloft. Air quality could become moderate at times Tuesday afternoon.
A much cooler stretch is ahead! Highs will be 10–15+ degrees below average Wednesday – Friday across SE Nebraska due to cloudy skies and scattered rain. Summer heat makes a comeback Saturday.
Wednesday Rainfall: July 22, 2026
5-9am: Showers/T-storms will develop in NW Nebraska before spreading across the state for the morning commute.
10am-1pm: Light/moderate rain will move into eastern & SE, Nebraska with some heavier bands of rain near Broken Bow.
3-6pm: Rain will start to diminish as it edges near HIGH pressure. Rain showers will stay along & south of I-80 Wednesday evening.
Rainfall totals through Wednesday night look to range from 1.0″-1.5″+ from NW->SE. More rain will occur Thursday & Friday across SE Nebraska!
Tuesday brings some cooler temperatures, drier air and some wildfire smoke. Wednesday-Friday will bring much cooler air with widespread rain chances increasing from NW to SE. This weekend starts another summer heat wave!
